Are you an experienced WHS Supervisor looking for a challenging and rewarding 3-month contract? We are seeking a proactive, safety-focused professional to champion safety on a significant regional community project in North West NSW.
We are specifically targeting individuals who are accustomed to travel and temporary relocation for high-impact projects as a contractor.
The Project
This is an important community project focused on upgrading a local pool and hot spa facility, ensuring it meets up-to-date safety and accessibility standards for the entire community. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment for this high-visibility infrastructure upgrade.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Working on a live construction site, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of site WHS management, including:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining Site Safety Plans and procedures.
- Conducting detailed Site Inductions for all new personnel and visitors.
- Leading and documenting regular Toolbox Talks to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Managing all WHS documentation, including JSA/SWMS reviews and compliance checks.
- Investigating, documenting, and managing Incident Reports and near-misses.
- Liaising with the Project Manager, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure strict adherence to WHS legislation.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven, substantial experience as a WHS Supervisor or equivalent role, particularly on civil, building, or live site projects.
- Excellent ability to communicate WHS requirements clearly and effectively at all levels.
- Relevant WHS qualifications (e.g., Certificate IV in WHS, Lead Auditor certification).
- Demonstrable experience developing and managing comprehensive safety systems.
- Proven work as a contractor would be highly regarded.
The Contract Details
The contract details are as follows:
- Duration: 3 Months (maybe a little longer, but lets work off of this)
- Who: You will be contracted to the local shire council who are managing the project
- Location: Regional community in North West NSW.
- Relocation: You must be willing and able to temporarily relocate to North West NSW for the contract duration.
ABN holders are welcome to apply as an independent contractor, but this is not essential. We are also happy to engage individuals and cover insurances and payroll.
