Job Title: Sr. Network Design Engineer
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and installing network systems for our clients.
Responsibilities:
* Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices
* Respond to and resolve incident tickets
* Draft and implement standard network change requests
* Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects
* Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings and ensuring asset management records are accurate
* Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades
* Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, and Thin Configurations)
Requirements:
* Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
* Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals
* Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts
* Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes
* Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP))
* Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
* Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS)
* Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE
* Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence
* Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products
