The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Planning Coordinator to lead our Planning Team and support the Manager, Development Services in delivering high-quality outcomes across the Council area.
In this key leadership role, you will:
* Provide day-to-day leadership of the Planning Team
* Manage workflows, priorities and statutory timeframes
* Assess complex development applications
* Provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders
* Prepare reports and contribute to strategic outcomes
* Mentor and develop team members
* Act as a key support to the Manager, Development Services, including contributing to operational planning, service improvements, and stepping into higher duties when required
This role is based at our Freeling office, within an easy drive of Adelaide.
About you:
You are a confident and experienced planner who enjoys leading others and contributing at both operational and strategic levels. You bring:
* A qualification in Urban/Regional Planning (or equivalent)
* At least 7 years’ relevant planning experience
* Level 1 Accredited Professional status (essential)
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Sound judgement and problem solving ability
* A genuine interest in mentoring and supporting others
* The ability to work closely with and support senior leadership
