**Role**:
The Library Assistant will perform a number of duties in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy under the direction of the Librarian.
The Library Assistant will have:
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

- Capacity to work both autonomously and cooperatively in a team and with a range of people including teachers, learning diversity staff, students and parents
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of library systems and other digital information systems

**Responsibilities**:
- Catalogue (with the aid of SCIS) and maintain Library Management System
- Infiniti and eBooks.
- Processing of library books and any other materials including covering & repairs.
- Audiovisual duties
- maintain KDC Clickview Library Editor and assist staff and students with use of equipment e.g. AV equipment, digital cameras, photocopier, computers, LCD projectors.
- Preparation of reports e.g. Overdue and stock take reports
- Circulation desk duties and Supervision of the library throughout the day, and in particular during recess, lunchtime and afterschool.
- Assist with collection maintenance, including the processing of returned materials, shelving and collection maintenance activities.
- Assisting students and staff with Research Enquiries and Library Procedures.
- Provide Scholastic Book Club to the whole school community.
- Preparing various class sets as requested.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the library including re-shelving books, resetting of furniture, general tidying and fish tank cleaning.
- Assist Librarian in ensuring that an effective library service is maintained.
- Performing other duties appropriate to the classification to assist in the effective delivery of services.
