This position is part of our Kalgoorlie Operations, a residential opportunity in Kalgoorlie working an 8/6 roster. The successful candidate will supervise the delivery of maximum ore grade to the Processing Plant through designing and supervising drill programs that add value to existing resources, locating the next viable ore bodies, and extending the Life of Mine.
The key responsibilities include:
* Providing training and mentorship to Graduate Geologists, Mine Geologists and geology technicians.
* Coordinating the design, scheduling and oversight of drilling programs to ensure timely and accurate data for analysis. Liaising and clearly communicating plans with numerous stakeholders.
* Supervising drill contractors, demanding adherence to all relevant environmental, safety and security measures.
* Overseeing the analysis, interpretation and modelling of geological data. Contributing to mine planning reviews to communicate relevant geological data.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Geology (minimum degree).
* Minimum three years' geology experience in a mining environment, preferably within a gold mining operation, with experience of drill rig management.
* Experience with mining and geology software packages such as Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.
* Exposure to geological modelling and wireframing.
* Must reside in the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
* Current unencumbered Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers Licence.
