Job Description
We seek a Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will provide hands-on mechanical service work to clients and act as the technical liaison between clients, product divisions, and sales teams.
The role will be based from Newcastle and will report to the Field Service Manager – East. You will join a team of technicians located around Australia who work closely together with internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete field machine inspections
* Provide hands-on mechanical service work in the field to clients
* Provide technical liaison services between clients, product divisions, and sales personnel
* Perform technical evaluations and analyze equipment and machine component failures
* Understand drawings and schematics to ensure correct processes are followed
* Supervise and oversee Field Service projects on client sites
* Educate clients on products and services
* Prepare post-site reports, timesheets, and expenses after site visits
* Travel within short notice may apply. This role comes with some physical work requirements.
Requirements
* A Mechanical trade qualification from college or technical school, OR Three to six years relevant experience and/or training
* Demonstrate understanding and compliance around safety regulation and standards
* Physically fit and able to pass a medical, with no site restrictions to perform duties
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics
* Ability to travel within short notice
* Understanding operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to read and understand a variety of written instructions
* Ability to complete basic engineering calculations such as basic algebra, geometry etc.
* Provide standard hand tools applicable to task
* Current driver's license
