About the Legal Services Group The Legal Services team supports the entire Woolworths Group.
Our team members provide thought leadership and professional and independent legal advice to secure optimum commercial outcomes, manage the Group's risk profile and guide our teams to lead the market.

Due to an upcoming period of parental leave, we have an exciting opportunity for a commercial lawyer to join our team for 12 months, primarily supporting the Woolworths Supermarkets Metro, Woolworths Own Brand Fresh Transformation and The Kitchenary businesses, as well as opportunities to work collaboratively across the wider Woolworths Group.
What you'll do Drafting and negotiating complex and high-value commercial contracts with suppliers to Woolworths Supermarkets Acting as the lead legal support for The Kitchenary, Woolworths' wholly owned ready meal manufacturing business Advising on contractual issues and regulatory requirements, in particular the Food and Grocery Industry Code, as well as other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements such as the Dairy Code Developing training, policies and guidance notes to address and mitigate business risks Preparing reports for the Chief Legal Officer, the Legal Leadership Team and senior management What you'll bring Current Australian practising certificate and 4 to 7 years PQE with a well regarded law firm and/or in house experience Experience in commercial contracting essential; experience in FMCG or retail and regulatory experience a plus Ability to work autonomously Strong commercial acumen, combined with excellent analytical, logical, and negotiation skills Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior commercial stakeholders Ability to communicate complex information in a simple and concise way Ability to prioritise effectively and adapt to fast changing business needs What you'll experience A commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams High-impact role supporting our teams who enrich our communities.
