Key Responsibilities
Motivate, lead and direct your project team including Project and Site Engineers, Project Supervisors and crew during planning and construction phases.
Provide "first point of contact" with client and coordinate client project requirements.
Analyse project information (contract documents, drawings, specifications, statutory approvals, etc.) to allow preparation of programs, work breakdown structures, estimates and budgets.
Risk management: focus on safety and commercial (contract management).
Resource management: initiation, planning, scheduling of all plant, labour, material and external resources.
Sub-contractor engagement and management: of supporting consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Program control: monitor project timeline, milestones and delivery schedules.
Financial control: effectively track, manage and forecast project budget and profit margins.
Project reporting: prepare and present project start-up, progress and close-out reports for the client and executive management team.
About You
Must have 5–8+ years' experience in project management and/or site engineering roles with a civil contractor.
Must have worked for a self-performing contractor.
Heavy civil experience essential (marine experience highly regarded).
Experience managing construction contracts and commercial matters.
Highly desirable – degree qualified engineer (civil, structural, or mechanical).
Must have previous Australian project management experience on heavy civil construction projects.
Excellent organisational, planning and project management skills.
Excellent contract understanding, negotiation and management skills.
Ability to lead and motivate team members.
Ability to prepare technical construction execution management plans.
Able to establish close working relationships at all levels of the business as well as with client and key stakeholders.
