About the Role
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading the main feature development team, ensuring that software is designed, built, and maintained to the highest standards. Reporting to the CTO, you will drive best practices and collaborate with Product Managers and other key stakeholders to align technical development with business goals. Your leadership will be pivotal in scaling the company's systems and processes to support ongoing growth.
This is not a people management role, you will be60% hands-on engineering and 40% overseeing projects.

Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems, within a similar tech stack (Ruby on Rails, React/Vue, AWS).
- Proven track record of mentoring engineering teams, creating a high-performance culture, and supporting personal development.
- Passionate about software engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and best practices.
- Robust leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive solutions and lead teams effectively.
- Ability to create a healthy and inclusive work environment that encourages both support and challenge for team growth.
