About the Role
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for analysing farm performance data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions that improve productivity, sustainability, and profitability. This role combines data interpretation, problem-solving, and practical agricultural knowledge to drive continuous improvement across all farming systems.
Duties include but not limited to
* Collect, interpret, and present farm data (e.g., yields, soil health, irrigation efficiency, pest/disease incidence, labour inputs).
* Benchmark performance against internal and external standards.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Lead initiatives to improve farming efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Develop and test new practices, technologies, and farming methods.
* Support adoption of precision agriculture tools and digital platforms.
* Work closely with farm managers, agronomists, and operational teams to implement changes.
* Train and guide staff in data-driven decision making.
* Liaise with external consultants, suppliers, and research bodies where relevant.
* Prepare regular reports with recommendations and performance insights.
* Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and industry standards.
* Contribute to certification and audit requirements where applicable.
Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
* Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
* Experience in farming operations, farm management, or agronomy.
* Proven ability to analyse and apply data to improve operational performance.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into practical on-farm improvements.
* Knowledge of modern farming systems, precision agriculture, and sustainability practices.
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
* Root Cause Analysis
* Value Stream Mapping
* Proficiency in commonly used and specialized software
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including advanced skills with Excel and Power Bi
* Demonstrated ability to work in high paced and changing environments
Desirable
* Familiarity with farm management software, GIS, and precision agriculture tools.
* Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

What You Should Know About Our Operations
Our business is widespread, growing walnuts and almonds in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados, mangoes and lemons in Bundaberg, Queensland. In addition to fruit and nut growing, we also operate apiaries located in Temora, Nowra and Dubbo.
Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg and a honey packing facility in Nowra. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
