: CasualPosition Classification: Technical Assistant Grade 2Remuneration: $31.21 - $32.41 per hour plus superannuationRequisition ID: REQ578815Location: The Maitland HospitalApplications Close: 18 June 2025 - 11:59pmAbout The OpportunityNSW Health Pathology Maitland is seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants to join the dynamic team of multidisciplinary technical staff who are servicing the needs of the diverse and rapidly growing Hunter Valley region. We currently have a casual position within the specimen reception and data entry department with the main role to accept pathology samples for processing, data entry of patient details into the laboratory information system, as well as other specimen reception responsibilities to ensure a timely, streamlined process focused on best patient outcomes. The Technical Assistants participate in a rotating roster which include weekends. An eligibility list will also be compiled for any upcoming positions. The 2022 relocation of the New Maitland Hospital in Metford allowed for a modern, purpose build laboratory with space for future growth and beautiful views. Being part of a growing community, but still near Newcastle, will see the area grow and expand and provide exiting opportunities within the laboratory space. With the expansion of the hospital and the increase in beds and outpatient services, the demand on fast, accurate and high standard of service delivery is paramount in building the already well-developed relationship the laboratory staff has with stakeholders.
