Overview
This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
Large Government agency is seeking an experienced Conference Manager (EL1) to oversee the successful delivery of a high-profile conference. This is a 6-month labour hire opportunity with a key government entity, requiring a skilled professional to manage logistics, stakeholder engagement, and communications.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary liaison with the Commission's conference management service.
* Ensure project deliverables are met through regular review of the conference project plan.
* Draft communications, including speaker invitations and promotional materials.
* Prepare and manage briefing packs, reports, and correspondence to meet deadlines.
* Oversee conference registration processes and provide support where required.
* Coordinate the production of conference materials, presentations, and assets.
* Monitor budgets and prepare financial reports.
* Develop videographer and photographer briefs in consultation with the conference management service.
* Assist in the delivery of additional events and forums as needed.
* Complete mandatory training programs as required.
* Work standard business hours (7 hours 30 minutes per day) with a minimum 30-minute lunch break. Weekend and public holiday work may be required with prior approval.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in conference and event management.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
* Demonstrated contract management experience, including financial and project reporting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in delivering high-quality communications materials and activities.
* Proven ability to manage complex communications and events projects.
* Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, and copy-editing skills, including plain English translation of complex information.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a team-oriented approach to issue resolution.
* Ability to manage competing tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
* A bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, and/or a minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role.
