About the opportunity
Based at Council's Depot, the Light Mechanical/Depot Assistant will assist in the daily operations of the Fleet and Depot whilst supporting the Procurement Officer to provide an effective Stores operation. In doing this, delivering effective customer service, efficient purchasing, supply, stock management, delivery and depot maintenance. In addition the role will assist the Fleet Mechanics, when required, to ensure that the fleet is properly maintained and is fit for purpose. The successful applicant is required to ensure compliance of small plant items and other tasks in accordance with Local Government and SafeWork Regulations.

Remuneration and Benefits
The role has been evaluated as being within Grade 10 of Council's salary structure and offers a starting range of $65,000 to $75,000 per annum ($33 to $38 per hour) plus 11 % superannuation, with commencing salary to be determined upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About You
The successful applicant will require good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
2. HR Truck Licence
3. Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology (Small Engines) OR
4. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
5. Forklift (High Risk) Licence
6. Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
7. Current and maintained SafeWork NSW Construction Certificate (White Card)
8. Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence
It will be highly desirable if you possess any of the following:
9. Qualifications in load shifting and vehicle mounted crane
