Nikpol currently has a position available for the role of WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT at our Heatherton warehouse.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loading and unloading trucks, order picking, wrapping products, packing, labeling, shipping and receiving.
- Complete all relevant paper work and Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklift such as, checking fluid levels, recharging Forklift.
- Communicate with operators from other shifts for handover and allocation of work priorities.
- Housekeeping - Organize, clean and maintain a safe work area.
- Move waste from warehouse to dumpsters.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks.
- Responsible for quality control. No damaged product to be dispatched. Any damaged goods received should be photographed and reported to the Supervisor.
- Package products for shipping (palletize, stretch wrapping, boxing, labeling).
- Stage finished product for loading.
- Load finished product onto truck and Unload products from truck.
- Move products to warehouse storage.
- Customer pick-ups (prioritize orders, customer requests, ensure orders are complete and available on time, assist customer to load products).
- Follow all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (steel cap boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, Hi-Vis vest) and company uniform.
- Contribute to the reduction of packaging materials utilized in Warehouse.
- Contribute to the achievement of Nikpol DIFOTWE goals.
- Participate in all required training activities
- Operate machinery (Edge Bender; Baz CNC Router; Beam Saw; Bargstedt) and use hand tools (Circular Saw; Chisels; Drills; Screw Drivers etc.)
- Execute all warehouse activities in a timely and effective manner including identifying the quickest routes to be followed within the warehouse and limiting verbal interactions with team members to related tasks.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- Experienced and Licensed Forklift driver
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime & weekend work
- Excellent work ethic and punctuality
- Solid background in a warehouse environment
- Strong record of attention to detail
- Good computer skills
- Strong safety record
- TAFE Qualification desirable
- Excellent written and spoken English

**Salary**:Annual Salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 plus superannuation and is determined based on experience.
