SA Health, a leading provider of public health services in South Australia, is seeking a Casual Ward Administration Assistant to join our agile team at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide's southern suburbs.

About the role

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager and Administration Manager this role is responsible for administrative, clerical and reception services. The position requires working in close proximity to patients and should have a working knowledge of hospital operations & activities. The successful incumbent must be able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision and use initiative and judgement.

Responsibilities

• Performing administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and document management
• Assisting with the coordination of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals
• Contributing to the maintenance of accurate medical records and patient information
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high‐quality patient care

About you

• Previous experience as a Ward Administrative Assistant/Admin Assistant
• Experience working in a clinical environment
• Experience working with distressed patients/carers with empathy
