What you’ll do We are seeking a versatile and technically capable Junior Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong scripting skills, foundational system knowledge across Linux and Windows environments, and a keen interest in DevOps and enterprise automation. The successful candidate will work in a complex enterprise environment, supporting automation initiatives that span infrastructure, cloud, database and application layers. This is a hands-on role requiring experience with Python, bash scripting, API integrations, and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can work independently, communicate clearly, and navigate enterprise systems and processes effectively. This role requires baseline cleared Australian citizens with high preference to those holding an active NV1 clearance. Resource should also be amenable to work on rotational on-call support. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and bash Support integration and deployment activities across Linux and Windows systems Operate securely on remote servers and manage access controls Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable automation solutions Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI Design and implement API-based integrations to automate workflows across enterprise tools and platforms Automate interactions with systems such as ServiceNow, Splunk, Database and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) using RESTful APIs Contribute to infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform – nice to have) Follow DevOps best practices including version control, automated testing, and continuous integration Participate in enterprise processes such as Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and ServiceNow workflows Work with databases, cloud platforms, and networking components to support end-to-end automation use cases Qualification Here’s what you need Proficient in Python with strong hands-on coding experience Solid understanding of bash scripting and core Linux commands Familiarity with Windows systems and PowerShell scripting (nice to have) Experience with RESTful API integration and automation using APIs Hands-on experience automating workflows with tools like ServiceNow, Splunk, and cloud platforms(Azure preferably) Experience with version control systems such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos Exposure to CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows Basic understanding of networking, databases, and enterprise IT environments Knowledge of secure access and remote server management Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to clearly explain the "how" and "why" behind technical solutions Security Clearance Requirement Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens with an active security clearance or are eligible for obtaining security clearance. This requirement ensures that all team members are cleared to handle sensitive information and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security in our operations. On-call and Shift Expectations This position is primarily focused on managed services, meaning you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our clients' IT systems (Applications and Infrastructure). Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be required to work in shifts to provide continuous support. Additionally, you may need to be on call to address incidents promptly and perform after-hours deployment activities as needed.
