**About the role**:
This role will work with internal and external stakeholders to address critical and documented gaps in mental health care, drive health system reform and establish a transformative shift in health policies and practice.
**Duties**
- Research translation in partnership with other agencies
- Promoting best practice in the development and implementation of policies and programs
- Development of policies and frameworks
- Representation and advocacy relating to health service delivery, health information, research, public health and health programs
- Co-design and development of strategic advice, submissions, position papers etc to support and strengthen the work
**Required experience/skills**
- Experience in a similar organisation or relevant government department
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community-controlled organisations or the ability to articulate understanding of essential qualities required when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community-controlled organisations
**Desirable experience/skills**
- A strong background in public, social and/or health programs and/or research
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline essential
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills and sound judgement
- Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across a range of settings and an ability to collaborate and influence at senior levels
