We are a leading boutique law firm specialising in motor vehicle debt recovery and are on the hunt for a talented Senior lawyer/Special Counsel with a passion for litigating and dispute resolution. We offer a hybrid work environment and no billable hours If you are a solicitor with litigation experience in debt recovery looking for an opportunity to run your own matters and work on exciting maters alongside a team of passionate lawyers and support staff this could be the role for you Your new role You will handle, oversee and supervise complex litigation cases in various jurisdictions across Australia, providing expert legal advice and representation to our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will include: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their needs and deliver tailored legal solutions. Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of cases, ensuring effective and efficient progress and resolution of matters across all jurisdictions. Mentor, lead and supervise junior solicitors and support staff, providing guidance training, and professional development. Contribute to the development of the firm’s strategic goals and initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement. Representing clients in pre-trial reviews, pre-hearing conferences, settlement conferences, court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as required. Liaising and negotiating with insurers and third-party lawyers. What you'll need to succeed Admitted to practice as a Lawyer in Australia with ideally 5 years PQE in litigation. Unrestricted practicing certificate. Proven experience in managing complex legal matters and providing high-level advice. Proven experience supervising legal matters and the matters of their direct reports. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring junior staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proven ability to manage high-volume portfolio. Strong negotiation skills with commercial acumen. An understanding of loss of use and credit hire law is preferred. Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. A keen attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. A commitment to maintaining high standards and professionalism. Strong time management and priority management skills.
