Position Available: Registered Nurse
Location: Moonyah – Red Hill
Employment Type: Casual
Working Hours: SHIFT WORK
Mon-Fri Day shift: 6.30-2.45pm / 10.00am - 6.15 pm
Sat-Sun Day shift: 6.30 - 2.45 pm
Afternoon shift: 12.15pm - 10.30 pm
Night shift: 10.15pm - 6.45 am
Classification: QLD Nurses EBA
About The Role
We are currently seeking a committed Casual Registered Nurse to join our Moonyah Recovery Services Centre located at Red Hill, Brisbane. This role involves providing specialised withdrawal management (detox) nursing services, clinical assessments, mental and physical health care, and referrals for addiction medical assistance as required to individuals undergoing detox within a safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing assessment, support, and treatment in line with QLD alcohol and drug withdrawal practice guidelines
Support and liaise with visiting medical officers
Dispense and administer medication to manage withdrawal symptoms as per guidelines
Manage admission and discharge processes, maintain case notes as required
Monitoring of participants and reviewing cases
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Nursing
Current AHPRA registration
Minimum 2 years experience and demonstrated competence in nursing within alcohol and other drugs environments, including working with individuals with mental health conditions
Current knowledge of QLD guidelines and issues related to withdrawal management
Clinical nursing and assessment skills
Competence in infection control procedures
Skills in triage, medical assessment, decision-making, and providing appropriate nursing interventions
QLD driver's license
