Brunel is partnering with a leading defence maritime organisation supporting a high-profile naval program. This ILS Training Officer role will play a key part in developing and delivering tailored maritime training to ensure workforce capability and operational effectiveness.
The Role
As an ILS Training Officer supporting a major defence maritime program, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of tailored training solutions aligned to organisational standards and project requirements. Working closely with Training Development and technical stakeholders, you will help ensure training outcomes support operational readiness and program delivery.
Key focus areas:
* Developing and maintaining high-quality training documentation, procedures, and instructional materials
* Assessing and adapting third-party training content to ensure relevance and effectiveness
* Supporting the design and management of training equipment and training media
* Engaging with internal stakeholders, trainers, and management to embed training solutions into broader project deliverables
* Monitoring and reporting on training development activities and progress
* Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and incorporating emerging training methodologies and technologies
About You
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or higher)
* Naval-qualified RHIB Coxswain or AMSA-recognised equivalent
* Minimum 3 years' seafaring experience (naval or merchant)
* Current industry or trade knowledge of marine deck equipment operations and onboard maintenance
* Hands-on experience with anchor systems, cranes, davits, accommodation ladders, fast rescue boats, survival craft, and rescue boats
* Experience delivering training in classroom, vessel-based, and simulation environments
* Strong capability in developing and maintaining training documentation and learning management systems
