- In-home care-based position assisting clients with activities of daily living, including domestic cleaning and personal care.
- Providing domestic assistance throughout the clients’ home and meal preparation.

About You
- Are you empathetic, respectful, and reliable?
- Do you hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability, or first-year Bachelor of Nursing?
- Have you completed your First Aid and CPR training?
- Do you have a Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence, comprehensive car insurance and reliable transport that you can use to visit our clients' homes?
- Are you available at least 2 days a week, during business hours Monday to Friday?
- Is your availability flexible and able to meet clients’ needs?
A day in the life of a DCW at mecwacare
As a Direct Care Worker (DCW) in home care, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals maintain their independence and quality of life. Working independently, your day-to-day tasks will vary, making each day unique and rewarding. You might support clients with:
- Daily living, including assistance with meal preparation, personal hygiene and mobility.
- Household domestic assistance, including cleaning and laundry.
- Transport, which may be taking clients shopping or to appointments.
Throughout your day you may visit multiple clients, spending between 1 - 2.5 hours with each client, depending on their care needs. A Victorian Driver’s licence and car with comprehensive insurance is a requirement for this role as you will be travelling between clients’ homes, and could also travel with a client to the shops or their appointment.
Overall, your day will be filled with wide-ranging tasks and meaningful interactions, all aimed at helping clients live their best lives in the comfort of their own homes.
