Project Engineer / Manager – Marine Remediation Diving Civil

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Marine Civil to deliver marine underwater construction and remediation projects across Western Australia. Reporting to the Western Region Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, high-quality, and commercially successful delivery of projects in live marine and port environments.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone confident managing site teams, subcontractors, divers, vessels, and stakeholders while maintaining strong commercial and safety performance.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Engineering
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver marine civil works including pile remediation, structural repairs, fender systems, scour protection, and underwater diving works
* Manage multiple projects concurrently (typically up to $5M), with crews of up to 30 personnel and durations of up to six months
* Provide proactive engineering and technical support to supervisors, managers, and clients, including documented solutions to site issues
* Develop and manage project programmes, look-ahead schedules, and resource plans
Commercial & Reporting
* Deliver project summaries covering production, costs, forecasts, quality, and progress
* Maintain progress claims, variations, forecasting, and change control
* Procure materials, manage subcontractor performance, scope definition, and cost control
Safety, Quality & Compliance
* Lead site safety in accordance with WA WHS legislation, company systems, and Tier 1 / resource sector requirements
* Prepare and manage ITPs, SWMS, methodologies, construction management plans, and quality documentation
* Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, Australian Standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
* Coordinate inspections, testing, and project close-out documentation
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the key interface between site teams, clients, port authorities, regulators, engineers, and consultants
* Manage onboarding and compliance of personnel and subcontractors within Tier 1, port, and resource client systems
Tendering & Pre-Contracts
* Contribute to tendering and estimating activities including site investigations, constructability input, methodologies, sketching, and costing

About You
You are a proactive and solutions-focused professional with strong leadership capability and a practical approach to marine construction.
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 8 years' experience delivering marine civil construction projects
* Proven delivery of projects up to $5M with crews of up to 30 personnel
* Strong technical knowledge of marine structures, remediation systems, and diving operations
* Experience working in live port environments under port authority permit systems
* Sound commercial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and subcontract administration
* Strong understanding of WA WHS legislation, marine safety requirements, and Tier 1 OHS systems
* Demonstrated ability coordinating marine plant, barges, and dive teams in tidal or high-energy environments
* High level of IT proficiency (Excel, Word, Bluebeam, MS Project, online reporting systems, Teams, Google Sheets)
Desirable:
* Relevant engineering tertiary qualification
* Coxswain certification
* MSIC (or ability to obtain)
