Developing advanced solutions for green iron electrochemical technology is a pioneering endeavor that requires expertise in materials science and chemistry.
As a Material Scientist, you will be part of the R&D team responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to drive this field forward.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create a safe working environment through adherence to high standards of safety and collaboration with all team members
* Contribute to the R&D team by achieving stretch targets in a positive manner
* Lead research and development projects for green iron technology in laboratory and pilot prototyping settings
* Interface with multidisciplinary teams to translate basic research into commercial systems and applications
* Develop next-generation materials for electrochemical and chemical systems at lower cost and greater efficiency
* Assist in identifying and assessing materials characterisation, analysis, microscopy, and microanalysis technology acquisitions
* Initiate, negotiate, develop, and manage external and internal R&D opportunities
* Recommend new materials technologies for project implementation and work with engineering teams to develop and implement solutions
Qualifications and Experience:
* Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related field with 2-3 years of experience in materials chemistry research desirable
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
* Previous experience with materials characterisation instrumentation such as SEM/EDS, microscopy, spectroscopy techniques
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word for data processing and reporting
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
