Nurse Unit Manager (Lvl 2) - Surgical Services - Temp FT
South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced and passionate Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to lead the Upper GI General Surgery Ward at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. This is a temporary full-time opportunity to manage a energetic surgical unit that delivers high-quality care to patients undergoing complex gastrointestinal procedures. You will be part of a supportive leadership team committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Location: Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital
Remuneration: $ per week
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time, 38 hrs per week until November 2026
What You'll Be Doing
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM coordinates patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the ward, provide mentorship to nursing staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, while driving service improvements and upholding patient safety and care standards.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in Bankstown and serves a diverse community. The hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences, with opportunities for regular training and upskilling.
