About The Team – Business Services - Fleet Maintenance and Acquisitions Unit is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of maintenance, repairs, and modifications for the City’s extensive fleet of vehicles and equipment. The Carrara Workshop plays a critical role in keeping our fleet operational and aligned to the Fleet Business Plan.
About Your New Role
As the Supervisor Carrara Workshop, you will lead and manage two workshop teams (morning and afternoon shifts) to deliver high-quality maintenance outcomes. You will:
- Ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of all workshop operations.
- Manage schedules and break-in work to meet performance targets and KPIs.
- Lead, support, and develop multi-disciplinary teams of trade-qualified technicians.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in fleet maintenance systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with business processes, health and safety standards, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in the Fleet Maintenance after-hours duty roster when required.
- Apply your trade skills where needed.
This is a leadership role where you’ll balance hands-on expertise with strategic management to deliver results that keep the City’s fleet running smoothly.
We\'re Looking For People Who Have
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Certificate IV in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent knowledge and experience (mandatory).
- Experience in leading workshop teams, ideally supported by a Certificate IV in Leadership (desirable).
- Workplace Health and Safety knowledge or qualifications (desirable).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- CPCCWHS1001 Construction White Card (mandatory).
- Unrestricted C Class Driver Licence (mandatory).
- Unrestricted HC Class Licence and Approved Examiner accreditation (desirable).
