They are looking for a Company Accountant to join a small, collaborative accounting team in a broad and interesting role.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance & Accounting, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day accounting function and provide support to the company's investment management operations. This is a broad role offering exposure to areas such as fund accounting, management and financial reporting, cashflow management and their audit as well as the operational side of the business.
While prior exposure to funds management would be welcomed, it is not necessary and this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your skills in an exciting sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform monthly reconciliations for all funds.
* Prepare adjusting journals, including revaluations.
* Support monthly management reporting, budgeting and variance analysis.
* Assist with annual statutory reporting and external audits.
* Support tax compliance, BAS/IAS lodgements and liaise with external tax advisors.
* Monitor daily cash flow and support working capital management.
* Participate in finance system enhancements and process improvements.
About You
* Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
* CPA or CA qualified (or working towards).
* Demonstrated experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within funds management, financial services or a corporate environment. A first move from an accounting practice will also be considered.
* Strong technical accounting skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive, organised and comfortable working across multiple priorities.
* Preference for people located in the Bendigo area but will consider those based elsewhere who will visit regularly.
