The role of a Business Support Officer at Winyanboga Nangha is to provide administrative oversight and ensure a friendly, safe, and culturally sensitive first point of contact for visitors.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have a strong understanding of the sensitivities of clients presenting with family violence and the impacts these issues may have on clients. Your priority points of contact will be with the Centre Manager, and team members.


About the Role

This position requires a strong knowledge of the local Aboriginal community, including Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative. You will also need to possess demonstrated experience in operating telephone systems, client service, and telephone communication skills.

* Demonstrated knowledge of the local Aboriginal community including Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative.
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Family Violence.
* Proven high level experience in Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Demonstrated experience in operating telephone systems and a high level of client service and telephone communication skills.
* Proven experience in administration, record management and finance.
* Demonstrated understanding and application of Privacy and Confidentiality and the various Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes.

About You:

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

* You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
* Preferred minimum qualifications include Certificate IV Business Administration, and/or a relevant discipline is desired.
* Demonstrated effective and interpersonal skills, for example, active listening, empathy in all verbal and non-verbal communications.
