Pool: Multiple temporary full-time vacancies for up to 12 months, with potential to become permanent.
The position focuses on mobile camera operations and incumbents may be required to assist with fixed camera operations from time to time. The incumbent may be required to perform duties in either role at the discretion of the Officer in Charge Traffic Camera Section. In either role the Camera Operators may be required to be absent on duty from Adelaide for periods up to seven days for camera duties and may be required to work overtime.
Mobile Camera Operations
In this role the incumbent is responsible for general deployment and monitoring of mobile safety cameras in various deployment modes in compliance with Australian Standards, legislative requirements, policy and manufacturer guidelines. The operator may also be required to provide site audit and quality assurance assessments and advise other Mobile Camera Operators relative to their mobile safety camera deployments. This may include, whilst acting under the delegated authority of the supervisor, assisting the supervisor with monitoring and work allocation to other operators and working with new operators to assist the training and induction of other members.
Fixed Camera Operations
Incumbents may be required to assist with the conduct of mandatory legislative testing of fixed red light and speed camera systems which include traffic light, midblock and point to point cameras in accordance with legislative, policy and manufacturer's requirements. The incumbent is required to exercise judgement and advise on matters requiring the application of skills and knowledge. Regular client liaison, staff training and quality assurance are important factors in this position.
Special Conditions
* The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
* The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
* Submit medical information and undergo and pass the required medical examination, which includes physical examination & a colour blindness check.
* Day' & 'Afternoon' shift work including weekends will be undertaken and may be required to work overtime on certain position rosters.
* Intrastate travel to South Australian Country Regions is a requirement of the position.
* The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
Requirements
* Maintain currency in first aid qualification.
* Must possess a current Class 1 or 2 Drivers Licence.
* Must undergo and successfully complete the 'Mobile Safety Traffic Camera' internal SAPOL Course and Fixed Camera Operation training as required
Salary
OPS2 - $58,709 - $63,154 per annum + subject to shift penalties.
