Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial and Controls, the 2 x Senior Manager Commercial are critical leadership roles, responsible for ensuring the branches and their portfolio of projects are commercially protected through strategic procurement, robust contract management and effective dispute resolution. By proactively managing risk across the project lifecycle, the role safeguards organisational interests, drives informed decision-making and supports confident delivery across complex and high-profile programs. We are looking for 2 Senior Managers Commercial to be focused on the following areas:
* Major Projects (TFT 6/30/2028 and 30/09/2027) - Reports to Director Commercial and Controls and supports projects including Parramatta Light Rail 1 & 2 (Delivery and Procurement Phases), South West Rail Link and Western Sydney Freight Line (Development Phase)
* PTP Portfolio (Permanent) - Reports to ED Commercial and Project Controls, supporting escalated claims and disputes and major procurement transactions across the Public Transport portfolio and commercial services improvement program.
Through the implementation of robust, forward-looking commercial and contract management practices, you will strengthen governance, proactively identify and mitigate emerging risks, and drive disciplined commercial oversight. Your leadership will foster strong stakeholder engagement and ensure contracts remain active tools for performance, accountability and value realisation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of a robust Commercial Management Framework, strengthening contract administration, governance and commercial outcomes while embedding proactive risk management practices, including dispute prevention, insurance, fraud and corruption controls.
* Drive commercially sound procurement and delivery strategies by facilitating strategic workshops and providing expert advice on risk allocation, tender evaluation, contract negotiations and cost benchmarking to support value-for-money outcomes and minimise project risk exposure.
* Establish consistent commercial reporting and oversight through the development of processes and tools to monitor contractor performance, contract status, risks and contingency utilisation, including variations, claims, time extensions and forecast contract values.
* Lead dispute prevention and resolution strategies, fostering a strong risk management mindset within project teams to minimise claims, manage emerging issues early and reduce the likelihood of cost overruns.
* Provide strategic commercial and, where required, people leadership across advisors and stakeholders, ensuring legal and commercial advice is translated into practical outcomes that strengthen compliance, enhance decision-making, and drive high-performance collaboration across projects.

Through strong partnership with your reporting line manager on complex decisions, you help guide strategic outcomes while ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with broader organisational and Transport objectives.
