Position Location: Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne
Employment Status: Ongoing (subject to probation) / Full Time
Classification and Salary range: Organiser Level 1 – 2, $88,988 – $114,936 per annum (includes Organiser Expense Allowance paid as salary) + 15.4% superannuation.
Position reports to: PPCULead Organiser and PPCU Director.
Positions reporting to this position: Nil.

The CPSU Public and Political Campaign Unit (PPCU) Organiser will assist with the implementation of CPSU political, public and community organising plans and campaigns. The PPCU Organiser will also organise Commonwealth parliamentary workplaces, including Members of Parliament Staff, this will include:
* recruiting members and identifying and developing delegates and workplace leaders
* helping members achieve fairness at work, job security, and the best possible pay and decent conditions.
The role will work to develop and implement effective campaigns and strategies to advocate for CPSU member interests, including through political and public campaigning, this work may include:
* organising member activities and forums
* engaging delegates and union activists in union campaigns
* working with other organisations to build wide-spread support for CPSU campaigns
* draft communications, including surveys, web-based and digital content and email communications
* engaging with parliamentary and political forums
* assistance other areas of team responsibility including drafting letters to parliamentarians, parliamentary inquiry submissions, briefing notes and assistance with parliamentary monitoring.

* Experience as a union activist or delegate
* Involvement in union, community, student, environment or other campaigns/collective activities
