About the Role
The Criminal Administration Officer plays a vital role in supporting NAAJA’s criminal law practice, which works across youth summary, indictable and appellate crime. You’ll be part of an energetic and committed team ensuring our services are accessible, efficient, and client-focused.
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same — you’ll be engaging with clients, preparing court lists, managing case files, and assisting our legal team in delivering culturally responsive and high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with clients (primarily via telephone) to gather accurate information, provide legal information, and coordinate communication between clients and lawyers
* Maintain accurate and confidential client data in our Client Management System
* Assist lawyers by arranging third-party services such as transport, accommodation, and assessments
* Prepare court lists and organise client files for duty lawyer and bush court services
* Provide general administrative support to the criminal team
About You
We are seeking a motivated and reliable team player who can deliver exceptional client service in a busy environment. You will be:
* Friendly, organised and tech-savvy
* Great communicator – both on the phone and in writing
* Passion for client service and teamwork
* Able to stay calm and efficient in a busy environment
* Experience in legal or client-focused roles is a plus
* Willing to get an Ochre Card and pass a criminal history check
