About the Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Science Faculty team.
The Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of curriculum by preparing laboratory experiments, ensuring the accuracy of solutions, maintaining safe chemical storage and disposal, and assisting teachers and students during practical activities. The role also encompasses maintaining SDSs, ensuring risk assessments are completed, and overseeing equipment and inventory management.
This is a hands-on, student and teacher-facing role that contributes directly to the secure and effective delivery of engaging science learning experiences.
This role can work across 4-5 days per week, negotiable for the right candidate.
About You
Experience working in a similar laboratory support role, with a demonstrated record of effective outcomes.
Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements in a laboratory environment.
Demonstrated ability in the safe use of chemicals and operation of laboratory equipment.
Sound technical knowledge of Chemistry, with an ability to support across a range of science subjects.
Excellent organisational, time management and administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students.
Relevant post-secondary qualifications (Certificate or Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor of Science).
Knowledge and application across earth sciences, geography, physics, biology, chemistry, psychology and STEM.
Operational knowledge of STILE, PASCO, and RiskAssess systems.
