What You Will Be Doing
As a casual Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and non‐blood samples, coordinate specimen samples, and deliver excellent customer service and quality healthcare. Hours will vary based on clinic need across Monday‐Friday rosters, with opportunities to work weekends.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
* Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
* Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
* Liaising with customers, clinic staff, and couriers
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
We are looking for experienced Pathology Collectors or candidates with a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or who have a background in healthcare and are ready to start a career in pathology collection. Registered Nurses seeking to replace weekend or overnight shifts with regular daytime casual shifts are also welcome.
Those without experience but with a customer service focus and healthcare background can receive fully paid training and mentoring.
Attributes & Skills You Would Possess
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a healthcare background
* Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy
* Organised, with strong time management and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously, sometimes independently in a solo clinic
* Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Holding a working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
* Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or have a valid visa with work permission
* Ability to work across a range of different hours
Vaccination Requirements
* Proof of vaccinations for vaccine‐preventable diseases such as Hepatitis B is a requirement
* Other vaccinations may be required based on location and setting
