About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Governance, the Quality Systems Support Officer plays an important role in keeping Council's Quality Management System running smoothly and in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining and updating quality documents, templates, registers, and controlled documents
* Supporting internal audits, including scheduling, administration, and tracking follow‑up actions
* Collating audit findings, non‑conformance reports, and QMS performance data
* Assisting staff with QMS processes and providing guidance on documentation requirements
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and routine reporting
* Providing administrative support to the Quality Systems Advisor and Manager Governance

About you
You will thrive in this role if you have: Essential:
* Experience in documentation management, business administration, or process support
* Strong computer and document editing skills (especially MS Office and document management systems)
* Excellent written communication and attention to detail
* Ability to follow structured processes such as version control, formatting standards, and compliance workflows
* Capacity to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision
* Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to support staff across the organisation
* A Queensland C‑Class driver licence (provisional or above)
* A qualification in business administration, quality management, or similar — or equivalent experience
Desirable:
* Experience supporting QMS, audit programs, or compliance systems within local government or similar environments
* Understanding of ISO 9001 principles (or ability to learn quickly
