Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $75,000 to $78,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking a skilled Painter to join their team located in Wallan, Victoria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work out the quantity of materials needed for the job by taking surface measurements or by looking at job specifications or drawings
2. Erect scaffolding, cradles and ladders and place drop sheets to protect areas from dripping paint
3. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, or electric switch covers
4. Remove old paint or paper by sanding or scraping or by using blowtorches or liquid paint removers and, when removing old paper, by using steam strippers
5. Prepare surfaces by fixing woodwork, filling or sealing holes, cracks and joins and washing them down to remove dust and grease.
Fill holes and cracks with caulk, putty, plaster, or other compounds.
6. Apply primers or sealers so the paint will adhere
7. Select and prepare paints to match colours by the addition of tints
8. Brush, roll or spray the paints, stains, varnishes and other finishes
9. When wallpapering, set out the area according to the pattern match and starting point in the room, cut the paper to the appropriate length, apply paste to the back of each strip and hang the paper on the wall, smoothing out any wrinkles or bubbles
10. Spray paint surfaces using a spray gun or specialised equipment
11. Apply decorative paint finishes such as stencils, colour glaze, graining, marbling and lettering
12. Wash and clean equipment and clean work areas.
Requirements:
1. Certificate III in Painting and Decoration
2. At least two (2) years of relevant experience
3. Proven experience in Residential & Commercial Painting
4. Valid drivers licence
5. Attention to detail and pride in quality work.
