Job Overview
YHA Brisbane City is currently seeking a 1 x Full‑time and 1 x Casual Commis Chef to join the team. You'll be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with food preparation and cooking while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food quality.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
* Support menu innovation and development that reflects creativity, quality, and guest satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate inventory management and stock rotation practices.
* Follow established SOPs and recipe files with precision and professionalism.
* Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation.
* Foster a fun, motivated, and collaborative kitchen culture that thrives under your leadership.
* Rostered days will include weekends; however, this may vary based on operational requirements.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
* Food Safety certification from a Registered Training Provider.
* Proven ability to prepare and present quality food.
* Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A positive attitude and passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
