About the Role:
This role involves teaching and research in marine sustainability at a university campus. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the institution's teaching and research in this area.
The position requires strong expertise in marine sustainability, including the integration of Indigenous knowledge and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and collaborate on unit and course design to drive curriculum innovation and refine learning resources.
* Bring industry and research practice into teaching to create engaging and authentic learning experiences for students.
* Champion educational excellence by supporting students, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to impactful pedagogical and discipline-based research.
* Drive high-impact research and innovation by securing funding, leading interdisciplinary partnerships, and delivering research outcomes with growing recognition.
* Foster research excellence and future talent by supervising HDR researchers, building industry-connected research cultures, and communicating work to national audiences.
Requirements:
* A PhD in a relevant discipline with strong expertise in marine sustainability and management.
* An excellent teaching record, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
* An emerging or established research reputation evidenced by quality publications, exhibitions, external funding, and research that benefits communities.
* Proven ability to engage positively with industry, government, and community partners.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build effective working relationships.
