Ridge View SC recently upgraded to a capacity of 1,450 students and offers facilities including a performing arts theatre, an auditorium, a commercial kitchen, and specialist classrooms for drama, dance, music, visual art, and media. Position
Ridge View SC is seeking to appoint a committed, collaborative, and future-focused educational leader as Program Coordinator – Vocational Education and Training (VET). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to lead and develop our VET programs, connect students with meaningful pathways beyond school, and establish strong partnerships with local business, industry, and the community.
Role and Responsibilities
- Establish and grow a VET program from a strong foundation.
- Inspire and support staff within the VET and Senior School team.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, training organisations, and the community.
- Analyse and use student data to inform program design and improvement.
- Lead the annual reflection, review, and operational planning cycle for the VET area.
- Coordinate key events such as career expos, career tasters, Try-A-Trade, and Year 9 & 10 engagement programs.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally be a strong communicator with exceptional organisational skills, able to build productive relationships with local business and industry and training providers to explore and secure innovative opportunities for students. They will work in close collaboration with the Senior School Pathways Coordinator and Deputy Principal to oversee course counselling, pathway planning, and career development initiatives for students transitioning into senior secondary programs. Recent experience leading a VET program in a secondary school setting is highly regarded, as well as a strong understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to develop personalised pathways that meet the needs of all students.
Additional eligibility requirements include being an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holding a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment; and obtaining a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
