A little about the role

This part-time Therapeutic Specialist will collaborate closely with the Principal Practitioner and therapeutic team to design, implement, and continuously enhance a trauma-informed model of care. This role is pivotal in ensuring that therapeutic practices are evidence-based and effectively support both staff development and the well-being of children and young people under our care.

* You will undertake Therapeutic assessments, develop and supervise the implementation of Therapeutic Care Plans along with providing ongoing practice support and training to team members.
* You will use a trauma-informed approach to provide secondary consultation concerning the needs of the young person to members of the child’s care team.
* In collaboration with Case Worker and Team Manager you will develop and implement Therapeutic Plans in relation to the trauma assessment for each young person which promotes their recovery from the effects of abuse or neglect.
* Lead reflective practice sessions and provide consultations, developing a safe, inclusive and engaging environment that encourages meaningful reflection of practice.

The base salary for this position is $110,102.72- $114,983.44 /annum (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + vehicle & fuel card (if applicable) + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. Applicable benefits from the Remote and Regional Benefits Package Policy will be on offer. This position is 0.8 FTE part time, ongoing role.

Please note: This role ideally would be based in the Kimberley or could be based elsewhere in Perth, a willingness to travel to the Kimberley regularly and on occasion interstate, including overnight stays away from home.

About you

You will bring a demonstrated understanding and application of child development and complex trauma and its effects of children and young people in out of home care.

* You will have a bachelor’s degree qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or related (Post Graduate qualifications will be highly regarded) and current registration with the professional body relevant to your qualification
* Demonstrated experience within a clinical environment supporting Children and Young People in clinical or OOHC settings with young person who have significant trauma backgrounds.
* You will have significant experience using evidence-based assessment tools with young people with trauma informed behaviour
