Our operational structure includes several committees - comprised of scientists, professionals and not-for-profit experts, a small office team of 3, and an amazing volunteer team.Why Join Us?We are a passionate team committed to collaboration and having impactFlexible, part-time hours in a values-driven reputable organisationAbout the RoleAs the Finance & Administration Manager, you’ll ensure DEC’s finances are well managed and compliant. Using Xero, Stripe, and Square (or similar systems), you’ll oversee grant allocations, project forecasts & budgets, expenses, and revenue streams (shop sales, memberships, and regular giving). Supported by DEC’s Committee, Leadership Team, an external bookkeeper (BAS, Monthly Reporting, Super Reconciliation), and an auditor, you’ll coordinate across stakeholders to ensure financial accountability. The role also administers insurances, NFP reporting, IT systems, leasing, assets etc. You’ll work alongside an Administration Coordinator (DEC Shop / Resource Centre, comms, membership, volunteers) and a Project Manager (fundraising, projects, education and engagement). You don’t need to tick every box listed - if you bring relevant skills, life experience, and a passion for environmental conservation and community engagement, we’d love to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Compliance : Administers financial processes, including budgeting, payroll, accounting (Xero), insurance and regulatory compliance.Governance & Policy : Contributes to developing and advising on policies to support decision making and compliance.HR & WH&S : Supports the Committee in HR functions, including WH&S, organisational development, and fostering a collaborative team culture.IT & Systems : Administer IT infrastructure, software subscriptions, and data management to ensure smooth operations.Stakeholder & Volunteer Support : Work closely with the Committee, staff, and volunteers to strengthen engagement and collaborative team working.Community & Fundraising : Supports wider team efforts relating to fundraising, membership programs, and public outreach to grow DEC’s presence and impact.Innovation & Growth : Applies creativity to enhance DEC’s operational effectiveness and its impact within the community.Experience in :Financial management and accounting; and at least one other area, payroll, financial analysis, financial reporting, ideally in Xero (or similar)Administration skills and experience in at least one or more areas e.g. office, retail, customer / professional services, NGO / NFP’s etc.Problem-solving ability and solutions focusWell-developed interpersonal skills, emotional / social intelligence and related communication skillsA knowledge of HR and WH&S and / or ability to source relevant information and solutionsIT systems administration experience (ideally MS Windows) and / or relevant vendor management experience.An understanding of DEC’s vision, values and culture or willingness to learn.Hours : Up to 12 hpw (permanent part-time, flexible)Salary : Aligned with WA award ratesEligibility : Must have full working rights in AustraliaStart Date : As soon as possible allowing time for a handover.To Apply : Send your resume and cover letter outlining how you meet the selection criteria above and emailDate Closes : Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with interviews commencing from 17 March, so please submit your application ASAP.
