The crushing operator operates several types of crushers that size materials such as coal, rock, salt, clay, shale and iron ore for industrial use, or for further processing, by performing the following duties.
**_Essential duties and responsibilities_** include, but are not limited to the following;
- Adhere to company quality, environmental and WHS systems.
- Perform all duties and tasks in a safe and efficient manner to ensure compliance with Worksafe and Divall's Work Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Comply will all safety instructions relating to working with & around plant & equipment, or the operation of plant.
- Move levers to regulate flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, or storage bins.
- Start crusher, and prods, breaks, or discards lumps to prevent plugging.
- Adjust equipment such as screens, conveyors, and fans, to control or vary size or grade of product, or to maintain uniform flow of materials.
- Keep record of materials processed.
- Liaise with other quarry workers to establish daily works program.
- Complete all daily paperwork, as in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform general labouring works as requested by supervisor.
- Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on machine.
- Handle materials and cargo used at the construction site.
- Carry out preventive and routine maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Move and handle equipment at the site while also carrying out safety checks on equipment daily.
- Travel may be required depending on the location of the work.
- Keep site free of rubbish and debris.
- Maintain site environmental controls on a regular basis.
- Maintain healthy working relationship with co-workers, inspectors and clients, when required.
- Ensure that correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when required & is kept in safe working order at all times.
- As a representative of Divall's, comply with all site rules and regulations whilst carrying out work on other sites.
- Undertake necessary training, competency assessments and site inductions as required to fulfil the role and maintain a level of standard.
- Attend monthly toolbox meeting, and any additional meeting sessions as required.
- Work weekend/overtime shifts/ long distance travel when required, unsupervised and to a high standard.
- Maintain a neat and tidy interior and exterior of machine, taking pride in the maintenance of the machine.
- Report all accidents, incidents, hazards and defects to your supervisor immediately. Follow the company accident/incident reporting procedure at all times.
- Comply with Divall's Code of Conduct ensuring probity and ethical behaviour in all dealings.
