The Role
An office-based role with room to grow, tackle exciting challenges, and develop your skills.
Reporting to the Business Services Manager, you'll oversee the accuracy and compliance of financial operations, including payroll, month-end processes, and key financial activities for Novatech and NexStage group businesses.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead the preparation and lodgement of all statutory and financial compliance obligations, including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, and WorkCover reconciliations.
* Manage and coordinate end-of-month close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis.
* Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and governance of financial records through robust reconciliation processes, general ledger review, and strong internal controls.
* Oversee business cash accounts, cashflow accuracy, and weekly payroll operations, ensuring data integrity and timely issue resolution.
* Maintain and control the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalisation, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation activities.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting policies, processes, systems, and internal control frameworks.
* Work collaboratively with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to support timely supplier payments and accurate customer invoicing.
* Maintain the health and effectiveness of financial systems and integration points, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
* Provide high-level assistance to the Business Services Manager with financial management, data auditing, and analysis, while staying up to date with legislative changes and new technologies.
* Maintain strong professional capability by staying current with legislative changes, accounting standards, and emerging financial technologies.

Additionally, you will hold the following

* A Diploma of Accounting or equivalent qualification.
* A thorough understanding of accounting principles, compliance requirements, and both administrative and financial accounting processes.
* A proactive approach to process improvement, continuously seeking ways to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Desirable:
Membership in a recognised accounting body is considered an advantage but is not essential.
