Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer with a background in building construction to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the construction of a Light Service Facility for New Melbourne Metro Trains. This exciting project encompasses various aspects including facility construction, track installation, civil works, and coordination with local authorities for essential services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the construction, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
* Coordinate the installation of services required for operation, including LV, communications, hydraulic systems, compressed air, and fire systems.
* Manage the fitout of access equipment such as walking platforms, working platforms, cranes, and other train access equipment.
* Supervise the installation of train maintenance equipment within the facility.
* Lead the construction of approximately 500m of dual track access into the new facility, including the construction of a new turnout and connection to the existing mainline.
* Direct the construction of overhead wire support structures and oversee the installation of new overhead wires for train operation.
* Manage the construction of civil works for new track, access roads, and car parking areas.
* Oversee the construction of new fencing and landscaping to enhance the facility's aesthetics and functionality.
* Coordinate with local authorities to supply power, water, gas, and sewer connections for the project.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in building construction, preferably in infrastructure projects.
* Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
* Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a multidisciplinary team.
* Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience in coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders for project approvals and permits.
