About the opportunity We are seeking a senior, strategic leadership role responsible for leading an independent, objective and risk‑based Internal Audit function that enhances and protects organisational value. Reporting to the Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee, with a dotted line to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will provide assurance, insight and advice to the Board, Executive and Management in line with the Internal Audit Charter and professional standards.
In this role, you will:
Lead the end to end delivery of the Internal Audit function, ensuring independence, quality and value add outcomes
Develop and deliver the Annual Internal Audit Plan in collaboration with the co‑sourced internal audit provider
Deliver a number of audits within the Internal Audit Plan, supported by the Risk and Assurance Advisor
Provide high quality reporting to Management and the Risk and Audit Committee
Maintain oversight of audit findings and management actions
Manage internal audit resources and co‑sourced arrangements
Work collaboratively with Executives and business leaders to enhance the effectiveness of controls, disciplines and organisational capabilities
Partner closely with the Head of Risk to strengthen the combined risk and control framework and provide collective strategic insight
About you: You are an experienced internal audit professional with strong professional integrity, sound judgement and the ability to engage confidently with Boards, Executives and senior stakeholders. You bring deep expertise in assurance, governance and internal controls, with the capability to contribute strategic insight through internal audit activity.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk or a related discipline
CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification
Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or eligibility for membership
Significant experience in internal audit, governance and assurance roles
Experience working with Boards and Executive teams
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence, challenge constructively and work collaboratively
