Job Description
Banana Farm Worker Required: Employed under the Horticultural Award 2020 (MA000028) Field based position undertaking a range of banana growing activities. This is a physical role which will require the staff member to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Activities include but are not limited to:
* Harvesting
* Deleafing
* Desuckering
* Strining
* Fixing Irrigation
* Weeding
Essential Criteria:
* Physically Fit
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Flexibility to work up to 38 hours a week (with additional work hours optional)
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Good English – ability to understand simple instructions
* Flexibility to work in all weather conditions, such as daytime temperatures of over 35 degrees and long periods of constant rain
* Prepared to start as soon as possible and remain in the position for up to 9 months.
Desirable Criteria:
* Drivers License
* Experience in farm/construction labouring work
* Experience in driving farm machinery
There is potential to upskill and additional training may be provided.
