Senior Information Management ArchitectYour new company A specialist consulting firm delivering complex Information Management, enterprise architecture and Microsoft 365 programs within the Australian Government environment. The organisation works closely with federal agencies to design and implement outcomes‐focused solutions that meet governance, security and operational requirements.This opportunity supports a major Information Management (IM) Uplift Program for a large federal government agency based in Canberra, delivered in a collaborative, multi‐disciplinary setting.Your new role As a Senior Information Management Architect, you will lead the delivery of an enterprise‐wide Information Management Uplift Program. This is a senior consulting role operating at the intersection of enterprise information architecture, co‐design facilitation and delivery leadership. You will act as the primary delivery contact, accountable for enterprise information architecture design and ensuring cohesion across technical, policy, governance and change workstreams. The program is outcomes‐based, with clearly defined deliverables and acceptance criteria, and requires close collaboration with internal IM, architecture, legal, cyber security and governance teams.What you'll be doingDesign and develop the enterprise information architecture model, including IA principles, metadata standards, taxonomy, content type frameworks and SharePoint Online site structure patternsLead co design workshops with up to four pilot business areas to develop, test and refine reusable IA templates, metadata models and information structure patternsApply pilot outcomes to inform a scalable enterprise IA design, including foundational SharePoint and Purview templates and configuration standardsProduce enterprise IA artefacts, including confirmed IA principles, metadata and template standards, and documented pilot validation outcomesProvide delivery direction to SharePoint and Purview technical specialists on configuration priorities arising from IA decisionsDevelop migration guidance for pilot areas and oversee targeted content migration using client supplied toolingAct as the primary day to day delivery contact for project management and governance functionsMaintain delivery risk, issue and assumption registers and contribute to status reportingConduct quality assurance across all deliverables prior to formal acceptanceProduce documentation structured to support transition to IT and Information Management operational teamsWhat you'll need to succeed 8+ years' experience delivering enterprise information management or information architecture programs within APS or federal government environmentsStrong stakeholder management capability, including engagement at SES Band 1/2 levelDeep expertise in SharePoint Online information architecture, including site structures, taxonomy, content types, metadata, hub sites and governance modelsDemonstrated experience leading information management co‐design workshops with non‐technical business stakeholdersLight delivery management experience, including risk and issue registers, status reporting and acceptance‐criteria governance under a Statement of WorkUnderstanding of PSPF protective markings and OFFICIAL: Sensitive handling requirements in Microsoft 365Familiarity with NAA Digital Continuity 2025, the Archives Act 1983, and APS records management compliance obligationsProven ability to direct SharePoint and Purview technical specialists and translate architecture decisions into implementable technical requirements
