What you will do as the .NET Developer
* Provide technical leadership by modelling expected leadership behaviours, fostering a collaborative environment, coaching team members, giving ongoing feedback, resolving conflict, and supporting career development.
* Develop IT solutions for complex energy‐market data issues within a specialised Scrum team, providing direction, guidance and insight.
* Oversee the gathering of IT requirements and evaluate solution options.
* Lead the development, maintenance, and documentation of the enterprise .NET solution architecture.
* Implement, configure and deploy on‐premises and cloud‐based C# .NET applications (including console apps, Windows services and Azure Functions), including migration of legacy solutions and integration with advanced SQL databases.
* Maintain and enhance AER's C# .NET APIs and microservices, including authentication, transformation, ingestion and workflow services.
* Undertake technical leadership roles within IT projects.
* Contribute to initiatives to improve the way the AER manages data and systems.
* Establish and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, external advisers, energy market participants, Commonwealth and state/territory governments, and consumer groups.
About You
* At least 5 years of work experience in:
o Business analysis gathering IT requirements and developed skills to implement robust solutions.
o C# .NET development, including console applications, Windows services, and Azure services (e.g. Azure Functions and Web APIs).
o Development of microservices architecture, event‐driven systems, and domain‐driven design (DDD).
o SQL database development and integration with .NET solutions (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle and Azure).
o Version control systems and CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps).
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects to completion and supervise teams using agile (Scrum) and project management methodologies (PRINCE2).
* A well‐developed understanding of Australian energy markets, and of the AER's role, purpose and objectives (or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge).
* Tertiary qualifications in computing, information technology, data management or a related field.
