Job Description
The role of Social Worker involves delivering appropriate social work services and culturally sensitive care to vulnerable populations, particularly Indigenous communities. As a member of the Allied Health team, you will work across various settings, including acute, sub-acute, community, rehabilitation, domestic family and sexual violence, and palliative care.
Your day-to-day duties involve advocating for patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, and contributing to continuous quality improvement and service development activities. You will be responsible for managing a caseload within a dynamic and evolving work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Australian tertiary qualification giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
* Post-graduate experience in providing high-level clinical social work services
* Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, family and community structures, and the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner

The Top End of the Northern Territory offers diverse medicine and tropical conditions. Katherine has a population of about 11,000 and serves the Big Rivers Region (~22,000). The region includes remote communities and cattle stations with a high Indigenous presence.
