About the role
OneTorques Mechanical is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team on FIFO 2/1 from Perth, WA. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and equipment used across mining. What you'll be doing
* Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on a variety of heavy diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems, CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi
* Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on machinery to prevent future issues
* Liaise with clients to understand requirements and provide technical advice
* Maintain detailed records of all work completed
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
* Support the team and contribute to the overall efficiency of the workshop
What we're looking for
* Formal qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related field
* Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the mining, construction or transport industries
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
* Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
* Commitment to safety and a proven track record of working safely
* Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
* Valid Australian work visa or equivalent legal work status is acceptable
* A current driver's license and your own tools
* Class C driver's license is required as the minimum license class
