About us:
An Australian R&D and manufacturing company based in Adelaide is expanding their production team and is now hiring an Assembly Hand to support the build of advanced mechanical systems used in defence, aerospace, and industrial applications.
In this role, you'll work hands-on assembling metallic and mechanical components, ensuring quality and precision throughout the build process. You'll use a variety of hand and power tools to install brackets, mounts, fasteners, and other structural elements, collaborating closely with engineers and technicians in a dynamic team environment.
This is a full-time, Adelaide-based role with excellent access to public transport and parking.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret mechanical and assembly drawings
* Assemble metallic and mechanical components using hand and power tools (drills, riveters, torque tools, etc.)
* Install brackets, mounts, fasteners, and other structural elements
* Handle cable routing and securing (no soldering required)
* Perform basic in-process checks to ensure correct fit and function before handover to quality
* Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workspace
Requirements:
* Comfortable using power tools and following technical instructions
* Ability to read and work from mechanical or assembly drawings
* Strong practical, hands-on skills with good attention to detail
* Must be an Australian citizen (defence-related requirement)
Desirable but not mandatory:
* Background in precision or industrial assembly
* Experience working in defence, aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors
* Relevant trade or technical certification
